Indoor Attractions & Weather

If the weather is showery, we do have three indoor areas with fun, unique & entertaining attractions  – Discover our history & behind the scenes work; see familiar faces in the LittleEnders soap set and enjoy the cosy Victorian Snowy Village switching between day & night.  Gulliver’s Travels adds some nostalgic charm and DARE you look at all the ‘goings-on’ in the peek inside house!

For a fun challenge – study our Medieval anachronism display to see how many things you can spot that are out of place and time!

‘The Mythical Kingdom’ – a masterpiece of hand-crafted modelling with animated characters, lighting and sound effects.

European Tiny Towns Get totally immersed in this super miniature world of landscapes, beautiful buildings, railways and moving trains. Packed with comical scenes and humour (Even some ‘hidden’ adult scenes too).  More details.

THE INDOOR AREAS COULD EASILY PASS 45 MINUTES OR LONGER.

Rainy day backup – If you visit and it turns out too wet, remember you can use our ‘One free return visit within 7 days’ to come back another day – conditions apply, please read the voucher!

STORMY WEATHER – Set in a valley, we are usually quite sheltered from the wind and will remain open on typical blustery & showery days with up to around 50mph wind gusts.  If the wind gusts are getting to 60mph and above we will have to review opening hours.

Weather Forecasts – Keep an open mind and check on the day – long range forecasts are often wrong and change daily.  Even local forecasts are still generalised for the region, that includes Dartmoor, and it’s not unsual for Torquay and the south coast to have better weather – drier and warmer – than forecasts suggest.
