WE REOPEN ON SATURDAY 5TH DECEMBER
'A VERY MINI CHRISTMAS' - the Model Village gardens are great to visit year round. Understandably, we are unable to run our Christmas event this year, however from 5th December to 3rd January, we will have a selection of miniature seasonal characters and scenes to add a festive twist, and will you find all the mini santas and cheeky elves? Open daily (except Dec 25th & 26th) from 10.00am to latest entry 3.00pm, closing by 4.00pm. Advance booking an arrival time slot, up to 14 days in advance, is strongly advised. Please note that there will be no full-size Santa, panto or evening lights.
Here is what you need to know......
BOOKING AN ARRIVAL TIME IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED. Morning slots fill up fastest. You may see plenty of spaces available, but they often book up last minute. If you do not book and we are at capacity, you will have to come back later or another day.
Extensive measures have been taken to make sure a visit to the Model Village is enjoyable as always, and as safe as possible for our staff and visitors.
To protect our staff and all customers, you should not visit us if you have, or anyone in your household has, any symptoms of Covid-19 (such as a fever or new and regular cough).
You must not visit the Model Village in groups of more than 6 people (unless from the same single household bubble) - by doing so you will be breaking the law!We are operating at less than 50% of our normal capacity
Extra extensive cleaning will take place through the day and screens are set up at all serving areas, with hand gels available.
The Model Village is an outdoor attraction set in a large 4 acre garden, operating a one-way route. There are distancing markers on the floor throughout the gardens. For extra comfort & enjoyment we suggest keeping two floor markers apart. There are some indoor/undercover areas but, due to limited indoor cover, we recommend coming prepared for any rain showers. We recommend you allow at least 1.5 hours for your visit.
Visitors are requested not to pass others, but wait for step-aside areas. You can go around as many times as you like.
Face Masks - you do not have to wear a face mask to visit the Model Village gardens, However, you will need to wear a mask to enter and exit the park and we do have a couple of indoor exhibitions, along with a gift shop and coffee shop, you may like to visit, where masks are required for anyone over 11 years (except for medical exemptions or if wearing one is likely to cause severe distress).
We are a cashless business and only taking card payments on-site..
Our toilets are open to visitors - we have some next to the takeaway coffee shop and some in the middle of the gardens. A disabled toilet is available next to the coffee shop.
Our coffee shop will be serving takeaway drinks, sandwiches and snacks, which can be enjoyed on the large outdoor terrace. There is a very limited amount of indoor seating, due to social distancing, but this is subject to change and only outdoor seating may be available (dogs, except guide dogs, are not allowed in the coffee shop).
The car park adjacent to the Model Village is a council owned and operated pay and display car, card payments can be made at one of the machines (though we'd recommend having a few coins in case). They also use pay-by-mobile either using a number to call or if you download the 'RingGo' app
PLEASE NOTE: Our optional 4D theatre experience, small indoor mini-golf and our evening illuminations will not be available for the time-being as they are not operable with social distancing measures.
Publicity leaflets circulated through hotels and accommodations were printed and distributed back in December and January, prior to the covid-19 outbreak. They have been withdrawn but they are distributed through hundreds of places and some may still exist. The information on these will be incorrect, please check back on this website only for correct and up-to-date information.
