VISITING US DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC

Here is what you need to know......

Extensive measures have been taken to make sure a visit to the Model Village is enjoyable as always, and as safe as possible for our staff and visitors. Extra extensive cleaning will take place through the day and screens are set up at all serving areas, with hand gels available.

To protect our staff and all customers, you should not visit us if you have, or anyone in your household has, any symptoms of Covid-19 (such as a fever or new and regular cough).

We are operating at 50% of our normal capacity

The Model Village is an outdoor attraction set in a large 4 acre garden, operating a one-way route. There are distancing markers on the floor throughout the gardens. Visitors are requested not to pass others, but wait for step-aside areas. You can go around as many times as you like.

Face Masks - you do not have to wear a face mask to visit the Model Village gardens, However, unless excempt, you will need to wear a mask to enter and exit the park, also when using the toilets, takeaway coffee shop and to enter our two indoor exhibitions.

We are a cashless business and only taking card payments on-site.

Our coffee shop is serving takeaway drinks and light lunches (these can be enjoyed on our outdoor terrace), open 10.00am to 4.00pm

The car park adjacent to the Model Village is a council owned and operated pay and display car park, card payments can be made at one of the machines (we do not have any change/coins). They also use pay-by-mobile either using a number to call or if you download the 'RingGo' app.  If this is full, there is another car park down Chilcote Close, across the main road, just 2 or 3 mins walk away.

How long to allow? - The Model Village is set in 4 acres of beautiful gardens and much bigger than many first-time visitors anticipate. We recommend you allow at least 1.5 hours, longer if having refreshments too. Based on customer feedback the typical visit length is between 1.5 to 2.5 hours, some are with us longer! As everything is in miniature with hidden gems and animated scenes at time intervals, a quick visit will certainly miss a lot.  The longer you take, the more you will see and experience - take a slower pace or consider going around twice!
